"Young children respond to gestures and movement before they react to the spoken word. They understand and explore sound before they learn to speak. They draw pictures before they form letters. They dance and act out stories before they learn to read."

School Visits and Tours

While most visitors to the school are families exploring school options for their children, others (both individuals and organizations) have visited the school for its historic buildings and setting (the property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places) and/or for the “green” primary school building. The school organizes visits and tours to accommodate such requests as follows:

For families interested in enrolling their children in the school, the first open house is scheduled for October 22nd from 9:00-11:00 am., the day Fall 2015 Enrollment begins.  Monthly open houses are held on the second Tuesday of each month (November through May), at 8:45 am. Space is limited and visits are by appointment. Please call the school or contact to schedule a visit.

Visits and tours of the Primary Building, with a presentation and discussion of the “green” sustainable technologies utilized in its design and construction, are held while the school is in session. Participation in these tours is limited and by appointment only. Please contact: to schedule a visit.

Visits related to the historic aspects of the property are scheduled by appointment and preferably with organized tour groups visiting the region’s historic sites. Please contact: to schedule a visit.
